Why do we fear?
August 10, 2021Thoughts #2
September 14, 2021Hi Dear Stranger,
Thinking clearly is the most powerful tool a human being has. The ideas we have can be life-changing in both positive and negative ways. Our thoughts push us to the edges, and it is again our thoughts that can pull us back. If one’s mind is poisoned, there is no need for external elements to manipulate or harm them.
**What to Do When the Mind Is Poisoned?**
Well, that is complicated. I have been suffering from this mind-poisoning for a while and have not yet fully recovered. I am trying my best, but there still isn’t a good answer to my questions and worries. So enough of me, and back to our question: what to do when such a thing happens? I think one of the best ways to cope with such a situation is to distract yourself as much as you can. Listen to music, exercise, talk to friends, watch TV, but do not sit down and listen to yourself—that inner monologue can consume you and is not beneficial to your current state. If you also feel insomnia alongside mind poisoning, you should definitely exercise and use some medications (under professional supervision) to help ease your symptoms. I have been experiencing sleep deprivation for a while, and exercising during the day helps me sleep instantly when my body needs it.
**Comedy of Errors**
Sometimes unfortunate events can take place consecutively, which can make things worse for people with mental health problems. I have been suffering from this sequence of misfortunes for a while—things happening one after another, excessive stress, and many other negative factors. Now that my mind is a bit clearer, I can understand why negative things happen successively: panic.
When you are panicked about something, that very thing is more likely to happen because you are no longer in control. Panic was my major problem.
So, I know at some point in your life you may face depression, excessive stress, and worries. Please do not panic. Be calm and self-conscious whenever you feel excessively stressed.
**Things to Do When Experiencing a Mental Disorder**
1. **Do Not Be Shy About Your Problems or Feel Weak:** Anybody can and will have some sort of mental disorder throughout their lives. Be open and ask for help.
2. **Seek Professional Advice and Listen to It:** Seeking professional advice and following what the professional suggests is crucial. Listen closely, and your problems will eventually be solved.
3. **Trust the Process:** Good things take time. You did not become this way overnight, so believe that you will get back to normal, but also understand that it will take time to overcome your issues.
4. **Do What Interests You the Most:** Stay active, stay busy. Not doing anything is probably one of the biggest enemies you have. Keep your mind busy and deal with what troubles you the most. Don’t dwell on it—skip it. You might even play a game when that thought appears, smashing that big hammer on it 🙂
**Remember, This Will Go Away!**
Never give up on hope. As all bad times have passed in your life, this too shall pass. Just hope, hope, and hope!
